COURSE OBJECTIVES

• to help participants understand their as a supervisor and coach
• to equip them with the skills needed for active coaching of followers in day-to-day operations
• to equip participants with the various action strategies to reach out to followers depending on work
preferences and interaction styles.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The objectives of Organizational Effectiveness Skills training are to enable the participant to:

• understand explicit and implicit organizational norms, structures, and codes and how they shape the work environment
• improve skills and abilities to function in these environments in an effective and job-enhancing manner
• understand how one is perceived by others (peers and supervisors) in a way that helps or hinders his or her organizational effectiveness
• Understand how personal and professional values, choices and behaviors affect their effectiveness in an organization

The objectives of Leadership Skills training are to enable the participant to:

• learn from the general literature of leadership skills theory
• develop a list of generally acceptable characteristics of what makes a good leader
• develop a consensus on the qualities necessary to succeed in a shared leadership environment
• explore leadership strengths and expand strengths in shared leadership skills
• strengthen weaknesses and expand strengths in shared leadership skills
• better understand the dynamics of shared leadership through the vehicle of mini-exercises
